I don't think it's that. I think it comes down to the fact that Drouin was clearly outperformed by many of the Lightning's other prospects in camp from start to finish.

It's more about what other prospects did do than what Drouin didn't do. People underestimate the strength of the Lightning's prospect system (especially on the wing). This is a system that allowed for Cory Conacher to be expendable in a season when he was contending for the Calder Trophy. It's solid.

And that's where my confusion stems from.

Yes. Saw it a few times to end last year if memory serves me right. But Barberio is also on the roster, so it looks like Sustr won't suit up for a full slate of games.
